Good afternoon everybody,
This afternoon we have one coming and one going.
Firstly, Lloyd Owusu has agreed to join Brentford Football Club on a two-year contract. Lloyd has an excellent goalscoring ratio to games played, an area that's been an obvious concern to me, and needed to be improved.
I am well aware he was popular here before but I'm afraid that is of no interest to me. I am taking him because of what he can do and not what he has done. He will definitely be an asset to us.
Stewart Talbot has agreed a contract with Boston United and is set to sign in the next 48 hours. Stewart has been an inspirational captain since I have been here and has been a model professional. However, he has an opportunity to move closer to his family and has earned himself a longer contract, which he deserves and I respect.
He is a big loss, however it is my job to continue to look forward to the future and develop a team not just for the short term.
There are other things going on, but I see no point in commenting on speculation until deals have been done.
I am still on my course at Warwick University, which finishes tomorrow lunchtime and therefore Adrian Whitbread is looking after Lloyd and his representatives at the ground today.
Scott Fitzgerald has started back at the training ground this morning with the scholars and Dudley, and my staff and I will be meeting at the training ground on Wednesday morning to go through the training programme that has been put in place by Adrian Whitbread, Damien Doyle, Matt Hirons and George Bankole.
