The streets around Griffin Park were more Hollywood than Hounslow as filming took place for the forthcoming film "The Yank" on Monday afternoon.

Elijah Wood, of Lord of the Rings fame, stars alongside Charlie Hunnam, and their presence was felt outside The Griffin public house, which has been transformed as the "Brigid Abbey" for one of the film's scenes, directed by Lexi Alexander.

The plot centres around a recently expelled Harvard student, who travels to London and is introduced to the passion and excitement of football "culture" in England.

The Yank is scheduled for release in 2005.
