NEW MANAGER NAMED

Brentford Football Club are pleased to announce that Martin Allen has been appointed Manager of the Club, and he will take up his duties with immediate effect.

38-year-old Martin is a member of the famous Allen footballing family and enjoyed a playing career with QPR, West Ham United and Portsmouth before embarking on a coaching career with Pompey where he became reserve team manager. He then became coach at Barnet, before being appointed First team coach and ultimately Assistant Manager under Alan Pardew at Reading.

In January 2001 he was appointed Assistant Manager at Barnet and twelve months ago took over the reins at Underhill.

He will be introduced to the players at training today and will be in charge for this Saturday's important home match against Rushden & Diamonds.
