As the current Under 19s Youth side progress to the Merit Division One stage of the season, following a successful programme which saw them finish third in the South East Conference, Brentford are pleased to announce that four of the Youth squad have been offered full time professional contracts by the Club.

This totally vindicates the faith and hard work which has been put into the Youth Scheme at Griffin Park over the past number of years from the Centre of Excellence through to the Under 17s and Under 19s sides, under the Directorship of Geoff Taylor and the Centre's Director Barry Quin.

The five players offered contracts are forwards Lloyd Blackman, Stephen Hughes and Rob Trayner, and midfielder Danny Allen-Page.

They follow the path forged by current first teamers, Michael Dobson, Kevin O`Connor, Mark Williams, Alan Julian, and squad members Lee Fieldwick, Matt Somner and Jay Tabb.

Brentford have for many years prided themselves on those players who have been seen to progress through the Junior ranks into League football, and in recent years they have included such as Marcus Bent and Marcus Gayle who now ply their skills in the top two divisions, together with a number of others in the Second and Third Divisions.

Apart from their appearances in the Youth side this season, each of those offered contracts have been regulars in the Bees Reserve side which is currently enjoying an eleven match unbeaten run and pushing hard for the Avon Insurance Combination Championship.
