Speaking exclusively to the official website on Thursday afternoon, Brentford manager Andy Scott confirmed that he had offered club captain Matt Heywood a new contract to stay at Griffin Park for the foreseeable future. Andy confirmed that discussions to this effect were taking place, although still in their early stages.


28 year old Matt has started 32 league games this season, scoring one goal, and has been a pivotal part of the Bees' climb up the table under the guidance of Andy Scott.   

Ross MontagueAndy also confirmed that he has taken up the option on Ross Montague's current contract, which will see the 19 year old striker stay at Griffin Park for next season.

Ross has been out of action since early February with a back injury that will also keep him sidelined for the remainder of this campaign.

Andy also confirmed that he would not be renewing the contract of defender Lewis Dark.
